Case Study

Human Resource Management Consultancy.

Client: Private Hire Car Company

The Company

This Private Car Hire Company employed 5 people and over 30 cab drivers who were self employed. The company was purchased by two Directors as a going concern five years prior to Linda advising them.

The business issue - Although the business had been trading for over 10 years none of the staff had contracts of employment or job descriptions.

Consultancy Project

Linda worked with the Directors of the company advising them on introducing contracts of employment and job description for the first time. This was a particularly important process to "get right" as a formal contract already existed for all employees but it had never been formally written down. The challenge was to investigate and ensure that the right terms and conditions were recorded and implemented and did not contravene what had been in place over the last 10 years of the company's employment of staff.

Measurable Performance Results:

  • The company now complies with employment legislation and also has introduced the basis of good human resource management.
  • The Directors have a clear understanding of their responsibilities in employment legislation and good human resource management practice.
  • The Directors can now see that the growth and reputation of their business is also based on good human resource management practice.
